It is with great sadness that we hear of the loss of Mr Graham Nearn. Graham, we understand, passed away peacefully on Saturday 24th October 2009. I am sure that all Lotus Seven Club and Warwickshire 7s members would like to pass on their deepest heart felt sympathies and support at such a time to the whole Nearn family, friends and employees past and present at Caterham Cars. Graham Nearn launched Caterham Cars in 1959 as a Lotus 7 dealership, but transformed the business into a full manufacturer in its own right after buying the rights to the design from Colin Chapman when Lotus discontinued production of the Lotus 7 in 1973. Graham made the very brave and visionary decision to revert to the Series III from the then, current Series IV. If it wasn't for Grahams vision, bravery and persistance we would not today be enjoying our Caterham 7s. 52 years later that same basic design remains essentially unchanged, and the Seven is still one of the great British sportscar icons. Everyone at Warwickshire 7s sends their condolences to the family, friends and former-employees that Graham leaves behind. You will be sadly missed, but thankfully never forgotten.
