Down South Blast 2009
Warwickshire 7s Blast Down South
An early start for the intrepid travellers. Colin and Kathy, Pete and Wendy, Stuart and Pam, Don and Lorna and Philip. A 7.30 start at Bicester heading south via Wantage, Hungerford over the downs to Compton Abbas airfield where we were booked in for breakfast and a meeting up with fellow 7ners Robin and Viv who were to lead the rest of the day.
After a very agreeable breakfast we left to head off to the New Forest via Zig Zag hill which some found out that it had a few haipin bends that were tighter than anticipated.
On we went to visit a garage at Beaulieu which had some very nice MGAs in the showroom along with a really nice Jag.
A short distance further on saw us at Bucklers Hard home to the early shipbuilders and a lovely riverside walk.
Later we moved on a few miles to the Station House Tearooms where most of us had eyes bigger than our bellies and couldn't finish the cake.
The weather remained fine all day so no hoods were required.
