5th September 2010 Hi Folks Just a reminder that Kevin is organising the Warwickshire 7s group for the Graham Nearn Memorial Blat. So if anyone is thinking of going and would like to be part of the group, drop Kevin an email. Click Here For the Lotus 7 Club event booking form which you will also need to compleate and return Click Here , for a pdf download. The Lotus 7 Club's event organiser Martin Bushaway would really appreciate it if people return their booking for so that the arrangement for the day can fully secured and the expected number for catering can be finalised. Here are the full details of the event as they As the ‘official’ club for Lotus and Caterham 7 owners, it seems somehow appropriate that we should honour Graham’s legacy by jumping into our cars and going for a mass blat !! A real 7-festival for all owners new and old, then meet up for a bite to eat and a good old chinwag. This promises to be a special day for all. Jane & Rob Nearn hope to come along in KAR120C and numerous faces from Caterham Cars, past and present have also said that they wouldn’t miss it. Oh, and several hundred of us to add to the occasion. So that we can gauge numbers for catering and loos etc, tickets need to be purchased in advance. The ticket price is now confirmed at £12.50 per person (£ 10 for under 16s), which includes a hog roast for all on arrival with a vegetarian option available if preferred. The price also includes a charitable donation to the Stow Maries Museum Trust which is by way of a ‘thank you’ to Russell Savory for the generous use of his aerodrome. An equal amount will also be given to NtL as the chosen charity of the Nearn family. Weather permitting we are hoping to arrange an aerial photograph of all cars in a formation at the Aerodrome (and am looking for volunteers to help coordinate this!). I would expect copies of the photograph to be available for sale following the event. We also hope to assemble a selection of available ex press and ‘motorshow’ cars as these were of particular interest to Graham and Jane. To this end, we would request that all owners of such cars, planning to make the trip, to contact me beforehand to allow us to formulate a cunning plan. Please e-mail me at martin.bushaway@lotus7club.com ....and yes, that includes 21s !! So please choose your preferred start point from the options in the ticket order form below where you will be greeted on arrival with hot food and drinks to sustain you for the journey. After a quick briefing you will be on your way following the route given or following others interpretation of the route! Caterham Cars have generously agreed to provide not only refreshments at 3 start points, a car sticker for each vehicle but also a marquee for us to shelter from the sun/rain (delete as appropriate). However, could I please request we bring our own picnic chairs to allow the area some freedom for several uses as the day unfolds So come along, enjoy the drive, soak up the atmosphere of this unique 1st World War Aerodrome, meet friends old and new and let’s make this an all-time record breaking biggest blat and do Graham proud.
